A mailman was bitten by a dog in Hartford on Wednesday, the United States Postal Service (USPS) said.
The incident happened on Litchfield Street around 11:30 a.m.
The mail carrier was attacked by a dog and transported to the hospital by an ambulance, the USPS said.
USPS reports that the carrier was bitten on both legs from behind but was not sure of the severity of these injuries.
The agency said there has been more than 6,000 letter carriers bitten by dogs nationwide this year.
