Bridgeport Police
A 48-year-old man has died after a shooting in Bridgeport on Thursday night.
Police said they responded to a home on the 100 block of Hewitt Street just after 5 p.m. and found 48-year-old Derek Martin, of, Bridgeport, with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to the hospital and later died.
Detectives believe an incident started inside the home and continued outside, onto the front porch of a multi-family home.
Police said they have developed strong leads in the case and Martin knew the person who shot him.
