A man has died after a reported shooting in Bridgeport on Thursday night.
Police said they responded to a home on the 100 block of Hewitt Street just after 5 p.m.
Authorities found a man in his 40s with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to the hospital and later died.
Detectives responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation. They believe an incident started inside the home and continued outside, onto the front porch of a multi-family home.

Police said they have developed strong leads in the case. The person who died is a 48-year-old man from Bridgeport, and authorities said he knew the person who shot him. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Hewitt Street currently remains closed between Connecticut Avenue and Hewitt Court.
