Police ID Man Killed in Bridgeport Shooting

Police have identified a man who died after a shooting in Bridgeport on Sunday night.

Officers responded to the 100th block of Marcel Street shortly after 10 p.m. after getting a report of someone shot.

Emergency personnel found a man, later identified as 36-year-old Andre Brown, of Bridgeport, lying in a front yard with a gunshot wound to his back.

He was transported to Saint Vincent's Hospital where authorities said he later died.

Brown's death is being investigated as a homicide, police said.

At this time, detectives said they are working several strong leads. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident where Brown knew the suspect.
