A New Milford man stole from a friend who was away on vacation to feed his drug habit, police said.
Vincent Palmesi, 19, and and another man are accused of swiping a 42-inch Vizio television, Bose speakers and a HP mini laptop computer from a Washington Depot home on June 29, the Torrington Register Citizen reports, citing police.
The two men received $265 after selling the TV and speakers at Spino’s pawnshop in Waterbury, police said.
Palmesi reportedly swapped the laptop computer for a few bags of heroin, he told police. Police recovered the speakers and laptop, but the pawn shop had sold the television, the Citizen reports, citing the arrest warrant.
Palmesi was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.
He is free after posting a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 9.
