Three people were shot at a park in Bridgeport Thursday night and a police officer was injured while pursuing a suspect, police said.
Police officers responded to Seaside Park around 4 p.m. after receiving reports that more than 200 people has gathered for an unauthorized music event and they found adults and children of all ages.
Around 6:10 p.m., police officers heard several gunshots, ran toward them and found three people had been shot, a 24-year-old Bridgeport man, a 23-year-old Waterbury woman and a 23-year-old Bridgeport woman. They are all being treated at area hospitals and their wounds are not life-threatening, police said.
The Patrol Division quickly arrested the primary suspect for this shooting, a 24-year-old Bridgeport man who has been charged with three counts of assault in the first degree, risk of injury, reckless endangerment in the first degree, unlawful discharge of a firearm, stealing a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a large-capacity magazine, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, tampering with evidence, and interfering with a police officer. Bond is set at $500,000.

Police said they arrested two additional subjects on charges related to the event at Seaside Park. A 27-year-old Bridgeport man was charged with possession of a hallucinogenic substance with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity magazine, criminal possession of a firearm, and operation of a drug factory.
A 25-year-old Bridgeport woman was charged with Interfering with a police officer.

During a chase, police said the suspect vehicle lost control and crashed at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Columbia Street. The driver was arrested and another gun was recovered, according to police. A third suspect was also taken into custody, according to authorities.
A police officer who followed the suspect vehicle was injured, but police say the officer is expected to be OK.
