Trumbull and Milford police are investigating after receiving reports of more than 45 car break-ins Thursday night.
Authorities said all of the cars had their windows smashed. There were about 20 car break-ins in Trumbull and more than 25 break-ins in Milford, respectively.
Police said there were similar break-ins reported in other towns, too.
Authorities are reminding people to remove items from their cars before locking them.

They say you should also avoid leaving keys or key fobs inside your vehicle.
Anyone who sees something suspicious, or has video footage or information, is asked to call police.
