A 21-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a reported hit-and-run in Meriden Wednesday night.
Police said she was crossing Broad Street in the crosswalk at Charles Street, pushing a small cart with bottles, around 7:50 p.m. when she was struck.
Witnesses said a driver in a light-colored sedan heading north on Broad Street struck the woman, slowed down, then left the area, according to police.
The victim was treated at the scene and then she was taken to the hospital with a serious head injury, according to police.

Police are looking for a white, silver or gray sedan with a possible broken windshield in connection to the crash.
The Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
