Police responded to a moped accident on River Road in Lisbon on Monday afternoon, according to state police.
The driver of the moped was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
State police said the moped was traveling on River Road when it veered off the road and crashed into a mailbox.
Route 12 was closed in both directions between Mell Road and Dogwood Drive but has since reopened.
