By now you've seen viral images of Pizza Rat and then a raccoon scarfing down a New York slice in a Central Park tree. Now Connecticut couple has the next hottest pizza-animal video to share that is literally sparking a lot of interest -- their dog accidentally sparks a fire while trying to sneak some pizza.
Waterbury resident Gary LeClerc shared his family's video with NBC Connecticut and wrote in an e-mail, "my wife and I are really trying to use this video for educational purposes as well as entertainment since it is both funny and eye-opening."
The video, time stamped Sept. 27 at 6:27 p.m., shows two pizza boxes sitting on the stove top. Then LeClerc's 2-year-old black Labrador named Brookfield -- one of three dogs shown in the apartment --jumps up and sniffs the pizza box. The dog nuzzles the lid, trying to lift it to get at some pizza. Getting its head inside the box, it appears the Brookfield is successful, nibbling on the pie. The dog's paw looks as though it brushes a nob on the stove.
Moments later, after Brookfield leaves, we see a flash as the pizza box catches on fire suddenly.
The pizza box is aflame for about 34 seconds before LeClerc comes rushing in and discover the fire, as shown in the video. Frantic, he throws the flaming pizza box to the floor, runs to the sink to fill a glass of water and then dumps it on the fire.
Then, a woman rushes into the kitchen, turns off the stove and runs to help LeClerc get more water to put out the fire.
LeClerc posted the video on his Facebook page with the message, "For your viewing pleasure....wait for it....and please share if you would like. Enjoy."

Now LeClerc is referring to Brookfield as the couple's pizza-stealing, fire-starting dog.
