
There was a sad ending to the search for a missing person in Norwalk on Thursday.
Norwalk police said they assisted Wilton police with a search for a missing person in the Norwalk River.
Officers responded to Schenck's Island on Ridgefield Road in Wilton and found a person's belongings near the bank of the river, including a cell phone and clothing.
The items belonged to 35-year-old Paige Fannon, of West Islip, New York.

Fannon was reported missing from New York on Tuesday.
After finding the items near Schenck's Island, police used a drone to search from above the river.
They located a body about two miles away, near Main Avenue and Grist Mill Road in Norwalk.

Investigators later positively identified the body as Fannon.
