Emergency crews responded to Old Hartford Road in Colchester for a large propane tank leak on Wednesday afternoon.
The leak happened in the 300 block of Old Hartford Road.
People were being asked to stay away from the area, but the scene has since been cleared.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said the tank started off-gassing after a valve shut off.

No injuries were reported and the situation has since been resolved.
