A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of whoever struck and killed a city clerk on Route 2 West in Colchester.
Noel McGregor, 74, was serving as Town and City Clerk for the city of Hartford. On Oct. 22, he sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car, which fled the scene. He died of his injuries a month later.
State police said McGregor was standing outside his vehicle when a driver in a Jeep Cherokee veered into the shoulder of the road and hit him. The car has damage to the passenger side mirror and door handle.
Troopers are still looking for the suspect vehicle, which is described as a true blue pearl color. They say the vehicle is likely a 2015 to 2023 model.

The governor's office and the New London Judicial District State's Attorney's Office are offering the reward to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person, or people, responsible.
McGregor's loved ones say they're looking for closure.

"He was everything and this tragedy has really rocked our community," Jendyai Scott-Miller, McGregor's niece, said. "It wasn't fair to our family. It wasn't fair to the community, or to his colleagues."
Scott-Miller said McGregor is remembered by the impact he had on the Hartford community.
"His legacy will be remembered and [will] live on for a very long time," Scott-Miller said.
McGregor was laid to rest last week. During his funeral, friend and pastor Keith Miller opened up about being with McGregor during the hit-and-run.
"By the time I moved my head slightly, I felt the jerk of the vehicle. By the time I looked around, I saw the shadow of him going down," Miller said.
Scott-Miller said her family is praying the reward is an incentive for someone who saw something, to say something.
"Our family wants to be able to rest at night. This is really hard to wrap our minds around," she said.
