A 74-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car in West Hartford Wednesday night, according to police.
The woman was hit in the area of Sedgwick Road and Cornell Road around 6:45 p.m.
She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
Police identified the victim as Anne Rapkin, 74, of West Hartford.

Sedgwick Road was closed for several hours between Ridgewood Road and Cornell Road. It has since reopened.
Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
