Police ID woman killed in crash involving DOT truck on Route 72 in Plymouth

A 35-year-old New Britain woman has died in a crash involving a CT Department of Transportation (DOT) truck in Plymouth, and Route 72 remained closed several hours later.

DOT officials said Route 72, or Poland Brook Road, was closed from North Main Street to Preston Road.

Judd Road was also closed at Route 72, and Bemis Street was detoured onto Smith Street.

Fire officials told NBC Connecticut that a woman died in the crash. Police have identified the woman as 35-year-old Amiela Scarlette Lee, of New Britain.

The crash was reported around 3:55 p.m. and four vehicles were involved, police said. The road reopened around 11 p.m.

State police are assisting with the investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
