
A driver sustained serious injuries and another person was taken to the hospital after a one-vehicle crash on Route 8 North in Shelton Thursday.
State police said Route 8 North was closed for several hours in the area of exits 9 and 11. The highway has since reopened.
Troopers said a car veered off the road, struck an embankment, rolled over and hit a utility pole.
The car came to a final rest on its roof, and both the driver and passenger were ejected. The driver sustained serious injuries, according to police.

Both the driver and the passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment.
