
A man who was standing outside of his vehicle on Route 8 South in Ansonia on Friday night has serious injuries after being struck by a separate vehicle that was driving on the highway.
State police said a 20-year-old man from Stratford had stopped his vehicle in the left lane of the highway shortly before 9 p.m. and was standing next to his vehicle.
A vehicle that was driving in the left lane of the highway reportedly then hit the Stratford man's vehicle.
The man from Stratford was transported to Griffin Hospital and was later brought to Yale New Haven Hospital to be treated for serious, life-threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old passenger in his vehicle was transported to Bridgeport Hospital to treatment of minor injuries.
The other driver did not report any injuries.
