A Vernon school psychologist has been arrested on sex assault charges.
David Pino turned himself in to Enfield police Wednesday. He was charged with second-degree sexual assault, but the arrest warrant is sealed and police aren't releasing any other details about the case.
Pino is a psychologist at the Center Road School in Vernon.
School Superintendent Mary Conway released a statement about Pino's arrest Thursday morning.
"The district has been assured that the charges are in no way releated to employees within the Vernon Public Schools nor do the charges relate in any way to children," the statement read.
Pino has been reassigned from his position at Center Road School to the Central Administration office, according to Conway's statement.
