A 24-year-old Middletown man is accused of shooting at a vehicle, leading police on a multitown chase and barricading himself in an East Hartford home.
Bloomfield police said Hartford police notified their dispatchers around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday that they were with a man who reported that someone shot at his vehicle in Bloomfield.
The vehicle had four bullet holes, but the man was not injured.
Police said, based on the preliminary investigation, that this was a domestic incident and investigators developed information about the vehicle the suspect might be in.

Bloomfield police started looking for the vehicle and found it around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
When police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled and police pursued, according to the Bloomfield Police Department.
The driver left Bloomfield, entered Windsor, got onto the highway and entered

East Hartford with officers following at high rates of speed, according to Bloomfield police.
When officers lost sight of the vehicle, East Hartford Police were notified that the pursuit was heading into their town and they responded to assist, Bloomfield police said.
The vehicle was found abandoned in a neighborhood.
Police then learned that the suspect ran into an open residence while the residents were outside in the yard.
The suspect was alone in the house and police surrounded the residence, negotiated with the man and he surrendered.
Bloomfield police said East Hartford police arrested the suspect on charges relevant to violations in their town.
Bloomfield police have charged him with
criminal attempt assault in the first degree, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment in the first degree, interfering with a police officer, engaging police in pursuit and reckless driving.
Bond was set at $800,000.
