A 21-year-old man who was shot in New Haven on Wednesday afternoon has died, according to the mayor.
A 21-year-old man who was shot in New Haven on Wednesday afternoon has died, according to the mayor.
The man was on a dirtbike in the area of Ferry Street and Wolcott Street when the shooters drove up in a car just after noon and fired three shots, hitting the victim in the head, according to officials.
The victim later died at the hospital.
Police have not identified him. The mayor said the victim was known to police and he was involved in some other incidents in the city.

This was the 10th homicide in the city this year. There had been 17 at this time last year.
