Slick spots on the roads this morning, especially in Tolland and Windham counties, after rain yesterday led to several crashes and school delays in Brooklyn, Thompson and Tolland. See the list.
Department of Public Works crews were called out to several towns, between Vernon, Ellington, Somers and Tolland, to treat the roads.
In Somers, some slick spots on Gulf Road, near Route 190, were treated.
Norwich police urged drivers to use caution this morning because of icy roads and they brought in sand and salt trucks.
State police said there were four crashes on Route 8 South, between exits 42 and 37 in the Litchfield area. The road was closed at exit 42, but has reopened.
Brooklyn Public Schools have a two-hour delay, Thompson Public Schools have a one-hour delay and Tolland Public Schools have a two-hour delay.
