Elevated fire concerns this weekend

Saturday Weather Blog

Saturday is still breezy with winds gusting up to 40 miles per hour. There is an elevated fire risk through today due to the winds and dry conditions across New England.

Those northwest winds will try to grab some moisture from the Great Lakes and provide a few flurries at times this weekend. Temperatures will warm into the 40s today, but wind chills will be in the 20s and 30s through the day. Sunday will be a little warmer but still breezy.

We lose an hour of sleep tonight as we spring forward into Daylight Saving Time. Sunday's sunrise and sunset will be an hour later as we continue to gain daylight over the next few months.

Temperatures will feel more spring-like next week as we warm into the 50s on Monday. Areas away from the shoreline will be able to warm into the 60s by Tuesday.

With the lack of cold air in sight, we won't have many snow chances in the next 7 to 10 days. Precipitation chances in general will be low until St. Patrick's Day weekend.
