A man who was shot in New London on Thursday night has been released from the hospital and police continue to investigate the shooting.
The shooting happened in the area of Shaw Street and Ann Street around 7:20 p.m., according to police.
The victim was shot in the abdomen and an ambulance took him to the hospital. Police said on Friday that he has been released from the hospital.

Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be random.
