An off-duty Rocky Hill police officer is accused of threatening another man with a gun during an attack in New Britain last month, according to New Britain police.
New Britain police said officers responded to 92 Sexton St. on June 30 for a reported assault. The victim told police he left his apartment and when he returned around 5 a.m., he was attacked.
The victim's girlfriend witnessed the attack, police said.
During the attack, a second suspect, identified as 32-year-old Jacob Boucher, pointed a gun at the victim and threatened him while he was being assaulted, according to police.
New Britain police confirmed Boucher is a Rocky Hill Police officer. Prior to that, he spent two and a half years as a New Britain police officer.
The victim suffered bruises from the attack.
Boucher was arrested on July 3 and charged with conspiracy to commit assault with a firearm, conspiracy to threatening, and unlawful restraint. He was released on a $250,000 bond and is due in court on July 9.

Rocky Hill Police Chief Michael Custer said Boucher has been placed on paid administrative leave.
