A 14-year-old died in a stabbing in Waterbury following an argument on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Waterbury police responded to reports of a stabbing at 1:38 p.m. on Colonial Avenue.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for a stab wound to the chest area, police said. The victim's name has not been released.
Jeimy Cintron, 27, of Waterbury was arrested at the scene and charged with murder in the case, police said. Investigators said a verbal and physical altercation between Cintron and the victim led to the stabbing.

He appeared in court Thursday morning and remained held on a $3 million bond.
A large crowd gathered outside the Country Village Apartments near Colonial Avenue Wednesday night. People brought balloons and candles to mourn the victim's death.
"He was a good young man. He used to play basketball. He wasn't into problems or none of that. That's why the whole community is so upset," one vigil attendee told NBC Connecticut.

In court Thursday, a prosecutor said the victim would have turned 15 this weekend.
Waterbury Public Schools officials confirmed one of their students was killed.
"The Waterbury Public Schools community has suffered a tremendous loss. On Wednesday, September 29, a student was tragically killed in a senseless act of violence. We extend our deepest condolences to the student’s family," the district said in a statement.
A crisis team will be available to students and staff.
