A transformer failure knocked out power to hundreds of residents in Southington Monday morning, according to Southington police.
Police said the transformer is in the area of 221 Burritt Street. Power crews are on scene making repairs and the road was closed in the area for several hours but has reopened.
At 6 a.m., Eversource was reporting 599 customers without power in Southington, but power gas been restored.
