A man and a woman are dead after a motorcycle crash in Bridgeport early Thursday morning.
Police said they responded to Waldemere Avenue and Atlantic Street around 1:05 a.m. after a call came in reporting a man who was unresponsive in the grass next to a motorcycle.
Bridgeport police found a man and woman lying in the grass near 1080 Atlantic St. when they arrived at the scene and said they were next to a motorcycle and safety poles.
AMR arrived to help but the man and woman both died at the scene, police said.

Police identified the driver as 29-year-old Rohith Gurumurthy, of Bridgeport, and the passenger as 23-year-old Zaveriya Shaikh, of Bridgeport.
They said Gurumurthy had been driving a 2016 black Ducati, Scrambler 800, lost control, went onto the curb and crashed near the safety bollards.
