A Bridgeport man was killed in a crash on Route 8 in Trumbull Wednesday morning.
Marcos Rodrigues-deoliveira, 42, was driving on Route 8 South around 4:45 a.m. when his van drifted across both lanes and into the grassy median before hitting a concrete bridge abutment and bursting into flames, according to state police.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash closed the southbound side of Route 8 for about four hours. The northbound lanes were closed for a brief time.

State police are investigating the crash.
