There were delays on Route 9 South in Cromwell after a vehicle fire on Tuesday morning and the scene has since cleared.
The highway was closed between exits 31 and 30, but traffic was slowly getting by when one lane reopened.
The scene is now clear and state police said no injuries were reported.
