
A 72-year-old Bridgeport woman is in critical condition after she was hit by an SUV in Bridgeport on Thursday morning, according to police.
Police said the woman was struck just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Capitol Avenue and she was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police said a 31-year-old Bridgeport woman heading south on Main Street in a Toyota RAV 4 was trying to turn left onto Capitol Avenue and struck the hit a woman who was in the crosswalk.
A 71-year-old Bridgeport man who was driving a Ford Econoline E350 then hit the back of the RAV4, police said.
