"The Daily Show's" Senior British Correspondent has some breaking news: he's engaged.
The 33-year-old comedian proposed to his girlfriend of two years, Iraq War vet Kate Norley, in July while on vacation in the Caribbean, reports People.
The couple met in 2008 at the Republican National Convention while Oliver was on assignment for "TDS," doing a report on veteran voters.
While Oliver popped the question in St. Thomas, Norely says she was the one who initially started their dating relationship.
"I finally made a move," she said in an interview with the magazine.
"I got seduced," Oliver said.
Norley was a medic while on active duty, but now enjoys her civilian existence.

"It was difficult," she says of her time in Iraq, "but right now it's nice that I get to spend time with the love of my life."
Oliver said that is was sometimes hard for him to date a solider.
"It's the most emasculating thing I could possibly do to go out with someone who has actually done something valuable with their life," he said.
But Norley said that she appreciates the fact that Oliver can actually make a difference with his job.
"He's got a forum," she said. "We still have troops on the ground. No matter whether there are two or 200,000, we have to make sure our hearts and minds are with what they're doing."
A wedding date will be set for "some time next year."
