An apparent domestic incident in Queens Thursday left a man dead of possible stab wounds and three others critically injured after possibly being poisoned with some sort of substance or gas, law enforcement sources and police say.
According to law enforcement sources familiar with the case, a 911 call came in around 6:30 a.m. from a man saying he had killed his father.
When authorities arrived at the Hempstead Avenue home in Queens Village, they found a 72-year-old man dead with trauma to his torso in the bathroom and three unconscious people-- a 70-year-old woman, a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman -- in the living room with no visible injuries, police said.
All three of the unresponsive people were taken to a hospital in critical condition. Sources familiar with the investigation say all the victims are related. Detectives are waiting on toxicology reports to determine what may have sickened them.
Responding officers encountered a 30-year-old man acting erratically at the scene and took him into custody.
Video posted to the Citizen app showed an extensive response of fire trucks and ambulances.
The names of the victims have not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
