Darien swimmer headed to Paralympics a year after shark attack

Darien’s Ali Truwit thought her competitive swimming career was over. That’s is before a shark attacked her and took her foot and part of her leg while on a trip to Turks and Caicos in May 2023. With the help of her fellow swimmers, her former coach, and her friends and family, she used traumatic event and her love of her sport to propel her to the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.
