Spring is in the air across Connecticut this weekend!
But first, a few scattered rain showers are possible Friday night as temperatures cool into the 40s.
Then, we are in for what could be a wide range of temperatures on Saturday, depending on where you are.

Saturday will be a prime example of springtime in southern New England, where parts of the state will be in flip flops in the 70-degree weather, while the other part of the state is in winter jackets in 30-degree air.

Highs tomorrow will be well into the 70s in southwestern Connecticut but only top out in the 40s and 50s in the northeast hills.
The culprit? What's known as a "backdoor cold front." These are cold fronts that come into Connecticut from Maine, unlike the traditional cold front which comes in from New York to the west of us.
The backdoor cold front will cross the state around noon Saturday, making it feel much chillier for many spots on Saturday afternoon and evening.

The cold front will clear the entire state by Saturday night, allowing for a couple of rain showers to fall.
Luckily, we don't have to worry about ice or snow, but it will certainly be tough to dress for the weather on Saturday.
