Tuesday Night Weather Blog

After starting the week with snow, sleet, and freezing rain, Tuesday flipped over to Spring. It hit 60 degrees in the Hartford area, a solid 20 degrees above average for this time of the year.

After a warm day, the rest of the overnight will stay comfortable in the 30's with patchy frost by Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will start very pleasant, in the 30s and under a mostly sunny sky. Clouds will quickly increase as we go throughout the day and then rain will arrive, most likely at or just after sunset. Some of the rain Wednesday night could be locally heavy. We will see around a half-inch of rain, which may end as brief snow in the Northwest CT hills, but no accumulation is expected.

Looking longer term, our big story will be a return of the cold weather...appropriately just in time for the first weekend of winter! High temperatures will be in the 20's and with the wind factored in, it could feel near zero degrees in the early morning hours Sunday!
