It was a very warm election day with afternoon highs reaching the upper 70s and tying the record of 78° that was set back in 2022.

If you're heading out to the polls this evening, you have until 8 pm. Temperatures are expected to fall back into the lower 60s.

Lows by morning are expected to remain in the upper 50s and low 60s.

It will be another warm day tomorrow with temperatures expected to break records. The forecast high for Hartford is 80° which would break the record of 76° that was set back in 2022. Record temps will be possible along the Connecticut shoreline as well, with mid-70s expected.

In addition to the warm temperatures, it's expected to be a breezy day on Wednesday with sustained winds between 10-15 mph and gusts between 25-35 mph.

With warm, dry, and breezy conditions there will be a high fire danger across CT. Red Flag Warnings go into effect at 8am.

Our dry stretch will continue with no widespread rainfall expected this week. We are expecting some rain by Sunday and Monday but nothing particularly heavy seems likely at this point. At this point we will take anything we can get and new signals is that this frontal boundary may interact with the remnants of now Tropical Storm Rafael.
