Happy New Year! We rang in 2025 with wet weather conditions for parts of the state. We're not totally finished with the rain yet, either.
The first day of 2025 will be overcast with a rain shower possible in the morning, then again in the afternoon. Temperatures will still be mild for this time of the year, about ten degrees above average for January 1.

The afternoon batch of rain showers may be accompanied by a few snow showers in the hill towns.
Snow showers in northwest Connecticut may last long enough to accumulate on grassy surfaces and elevated surfaces. Most of the roads should see less accumulation due to the recent warm weather.
After Wednesday's snow chance, our next shot at any white stuff will hold off until Monday or Tuesday of next week. We've been telling you about the chance of a snowstorm, but those chances have been decreasing as weather models predict the snow will stay to our south. That could still change, so we encourage you to stay with us for the latest!
