Cold Temps Last Through First Full Week of January

NBCUniversal Media, LLC

Saturday Evening Weather Blog

It was a cool day across the state with high temps only reaching the low to mid 30s. It was also breezy which made the temps feel more like the 20s. We saw maximum wind gusts between 30-40 mph statewide.

A sustained breeze between 10-15 mph will continue through this evening which will make the morning low of 23° feel more like the single digits to teens. The winter coat will definitely be needed tomorrow morning!

Sunday will be very similar to today with a mix of sun and clouds, a brief flurry in western CT, and temperatures in the low to mid 30s.

Winds won't be quiet as strong tomorrow but there will be enough of a breeze to make it feel like the mid 20s.

Things will remain quiet locally as we begin next week. A major winter snowstorm looks to miss New England with heavy snow expected from Kansas to Washington DC.

Winter alerts stretch from the plains to the Atlantic Coastline.

While we may be getting missed by a majority of the snowstorms, we will not get missed by the chilly air. Temperatures will remain slightly colder-than-average for early January, ranging from the 10's to the 20's.
