Monday Morning Weather Blog

Things will remain quiet locally as we begin the week. A major winter snowstorm is missing Connecticut with heavy snow falling in Washington DC and Baltimore.

This afternoon we'll see mostly cloudy skies with high temps around 30°. Winds will remain out of the NW between 5-15 mph, making it feel more like the 20s. The cold is rebuilding and the winds will increase tonight.

Wind speeds will also go back up between Tuesday and Thursday with wind gusts between 30-40 mph.

With gusty conditions actual temperatures in the upper 20s will feel much colder.

By tomorrow the wind chill values could range between 5° and 15°.

It will also be a chilly start to the day on Wednesday with wind chill values between -10° and 5°. The winter jacket will definitely be needed this week!

As we look ahead to the upcoming weekend guidance has been leaning towards a coastal storm forming but there are still plenty of unknowns such as the track and overall strength of the system. Right now a few snow showers look possible but it's too far out to talk anything specific. A lot can and will change over the next week so we'll keep you posted!
