Damp, Foggy Weekend

NBCUniversal Media, LLC

Saturday Weather Blog

A thick fog has descended upon the Nutmeg State tonight, lowering visibility and making it more difficult to travel. The fog will remain tonight with periods of improvement, followed by times of thicker fog. In general, allow extra travel time tonight, use low beam headlights, and turn on the fog lights (if you have them) on your vehicle!

Temperatures will remain warm enough to elude a widespread icy scenario tonight. Temperatures will hover near 40 degrees in the Connecticut River Valley, 40-45 degrees at the shoreline, and 35-40 in the hill towns.

We won't have much sunshine the rest of this weekend. Sunday morning will feature a few rain showers, which should transition into a drier afternoon Sunday. Our next widespread rainfall will cross the state late Sunday night and early Monday morning. Most of this will end by mid-morning Monday, and then we'll be dry through Tuesday.

Total rainfall Monday will range from about 0.75-1.50", which will continue to aid in the ongoing drought conditions.
