Temperatures return to seasonable levels to end the weekend

It will be a chilly overnight and Monday morning across Connecticut with temperatures dropping into the 30s. Some towns will be near or slightly before freezing around daybreak.

Partly sunny skies will be found across the state Monday with temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60. This is fairly close to what's typical for the end of October.

Our brief stretch of seasonable weather will be short-lived, however, with a dramatic warming trend through Halloween. A large ridge of high pressure over the southeastern part of the country will help push warmer air into New England.

We are forecasting 82 degrees in the Hartford area Halloween which would tie the record for the warmest Halloween set back in 1946. Temperatures will drop a bit to start November but still remain above normal for the time of year.

With no substantial rain in the forecast, we are still on track for the driest 2-month stretch on record.
