"Don't like the weather? Wait 5 minutes!" We're sure you've heard that phrase before, and it couldn't be truer in the days ahead. Friday will warm to about 60 degrees while staying partly to mostly cloudy.

Wild weekend weather will ensue, beginning Saturday as warmer air rushes into southwest Connecticut. The warmer air won't make it through the entire state, though. Northeast CT will stay colder, leaving the nation's third-smallest state with one of the biggest temperature differences across the country.

Cold air, draining south from Canada, will settle into northeast Connecticut while warm air, pushing from the Appalachians and Midwest, will travel to the southwestern part of the state. By Sunday, colder air will return for all.

The weekend won't be a washout. Rain chances will range from 30 to 40 percent through the weekend, with the highest chances on Saturday evening and Sunday evening.

March can feature all sorts of weather in Connecticut. The high temperature can flirt with 90 degrees or sink below 0°. We can get brush fires, or blizzards. We don't expect any of the above, but certainly up and down temperatures!
