Temperatures climbed to record levels again yesterday with highs in the 80s away from the Sound. In fact, 84 degrees in the Hartford area tied the all-time November temperature record set just less than a week ago on November 1st!

It will be warm again today but not nearly as warm as Wednesday. Temperatures will be around 70 degrees in most of the state.

Our remarkably dry stretch of weather will continue over the coming days with no rain expected until Sunday evening and Sunday night. Sunshine will be the rule for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with temperatures a bit closer to normal but still on the mild side for November.

Our fire danger remains elevated and will stay up until we get a good soaking rain storm or snow pack. Neither seems to be happening in the next 6 days.

Hurricane Rafael hit Cuba as a major hurricane yesterday. The storm will slow down and meander in the Gulf of Mexico. Right now it looks like it will not be a big threat the the US.
