Weather Alert: Parts of the state are under a Winter Weather Advisory, which goes into effect at 1 a.m. tonight and lasts until 11 a.m. Monday. The alert is for freezing rain, which will add up to a few hundredths of an inch and make the morning commute slick!

Precipitation will begin shortly around, or after, midnight. It will begin in western Connecticut first, pushing its way eastward to cover much of the state by dawn Monday.

The shoreline will stay warm enough to avoid any ice. Instead, expect rain showers at the coast. However, central and northern CT will get an icy mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The precipitation will change to all rain showers after 9 or 10 a.m. Monday.

Monday morning's commute will be the most impacted, with school delays likely in parts of central/northern CT and icy roadways. Take it easy on Monday morning and allow extra time to get to your destination!

A light glaze of ice will be possible along with a coating to an inch of snowfall.

This week, we'll have rain chances late Monday, early Tuesday, then again late Wednesday. It will be a milder week with multiple chances of rain. Chances for snow remain on the lower side.
