After a stormy Saturday for some parts of the state, Sunday begins on a drier note. However, it's still cloudy and foggy ahead of more afternoon rain showers. No severe weather is expected today as we see more cloud cover and temperatures only warming into the 60s and 70s.

Eastern Connecticut may not see any rainfall until tonight, but once showers are here, they're going to stick around for a while. Temperatures will drop into the 50s tonight before only warming into the lower 60s tomorrow.

The next four days will be rather unsettled with periodic rain. Some of the rain could be heavy on Monday and Tuesday. We will have some dry time, but not a lot as it will be a cloudy and rainy start to the week.

Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches appear likely for much of the Northeast, possibly up to 3" in a few spots. This will have our rivers running at elevated levels.

We should start to dry out on Wednesday, but a few stray showers will be possible by the end of the week. Conditions will be warmer and drier by Mother's Day Weekend.
