It feels like winter out there today! After morning lows from 13 degrees to 28 degrees, we will see a modest temperature increase this afternoon.

Today's sunrise in the Hartford was scheduled for 7:00 a.m. ET. That's significant, because we are seeing sunrises occur later and later as we near the Winter Solstice. We won't see a sunrise before 7:00 a.m. ET until February 4, 2025!
Quiet weather will rule in the state until Wednesday night when our next chance at accumulating snow arrives. As of this writing, we're expecting a coating to two inches of snow, away from the shoreline. We have some time to fine tune this later today.
The Connecticut shoreline will be warmer than inland areas, thus limiting any snowfall potential. However across inland towns, you may wake up to a light coating of snowfall Thursday morning! This doesn't appear as though it will create hazardous conditions for the morning drive Thursday.
Meanwhile regarding the temperature, it will be a cold stretch across New England over the coming days with highs around 40 and lows near 20. The cold weather shows no signs of leaving. Temperatures will drop even more by the end of this week with highs near freezing by Friday.

We officially saw the driest meteorological fall on record in the Hartford area with 3.47" of precipitation, beating the 1908 record.
It was also the second warmest meteorological fall on record with an average temperature of 57.5°, just missing the 1931 record of 57.7°.
