Calming Winds Ahead of Light Snow

Friday Weather Blog

Friday is still a little breezy with high temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s this afternoon. Soak in today's sunshine because clouds will increase through Friday evening. This occurs as winds continue to decrease ahead of our next chance for light snow.

A major winter storm is rolling across the central and southern U.S. today, and our Saturday snow chance is from those remnants. This system weakens as it moves east of the Appalachians, but it will hold together just enough to bring most of Connecticut light snow through Saturday morning.

Expect on-and-off flurries from early tomorrow morning through the midday hours. Snow totals will likely stay below an inch, with the only exception being some higher elevations in the Berkshires. Minimal travel impacts are expected with this system.

Clouds will decrease into Saturday night, providing an excellent chance to view a SpaceX Starlink Satellite passage overhead! Look to the east sky by 5:44 a.m. on Sunday.
