Friday Weather Blog

After a chilly start this morning we are expecting bright, abundant....yet ineffective sunshine. We are 8 days from the winter solstice and the lowest sun angle of the year (one of the shortest days of the year) so the sun doesn't help very much.

Northwest winds will kick around this morning, up to 15-20 mph, but diminish this afternoon.

Friday will continue to be chilly, feeling like the mid 20's through the afternoon.

The next few days will be filled with sunshine, which will help make it feel a little bit warmer. We will need that help, because high temperatures will be well below average for this time of the year.

A weak system will bring a rising chance of light snow/mix/and rain later Sunday night and Monday. Mild air will struggle into northern sections of the state, so their may be a few issues on Monday morning.

Another chance of rain develops quickly for Tuesday. Another chance of rain and wind develops for Thursday and possible next weekend as well. We are tracking them all!

Next week, we'll have rain chances late Monday, early Tuesday, then again on Thursday. It will be a milder week with multiple chances of rain. Chances for snow remain on the lower side.
