It was a very cold start to the day today with low temps near or below zero in most areas. The coldest temps that our weather watchers reported were -8 in Bakersville and -7 in Colebrook.
It will be cold again Tuesday morning but not nearly as cold as Monday morning. Snow will develop between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. and last through 10 a.m. or 11 a.m.

The snow will be mainly light but some accumulation is expected across Connecticut. In the Northwest Hills 1"-2" of snow is expected. Across the remainder of the state a coating to an inch of snow is possible.
If you are traveling Christmas Eve expect a more significant snowfall across parts of northern New England with winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings posted for portions of Vermont and Maine.
Sunshine is expected for Christmas Day across southern New England with highs in the 30s. Warmer temperatures are on the horizon and the 40-degree weather will soon return.
