We are watching an interesting set up for Today where we should see some snow shower activity developing. Air coming in off the ocean will collide with upper level energy from the west and snow may result by the midday and afternoon hours, lasting into overnight.
Some of those snow showers could linger into Saturday morning, between a dusting and an inch of snow looks possible. Localized amounts could be up to 2" of fluff, especially in higher elevation areas.

If today is your day to travel around the region, the only issues should be out across New York and Pennsylvania, on I-90 or I-80. Light rain or snow could slow you down a bit in New Jersey, NYC and near Cape Cod. Overall, no big problems are expected.
Tomorrow marks the first day of winter, and it will feel like the new season with highs in the 20s and low 30s. By Sunday morning, the wind chill will fall below 0! Winds will be gusting up to 25 miles per hour early on Sunday, so conditions will feel a bit bitter. As usual, the northwest hill towns will feel the worst of it.
The next system worth watching could bring us some rain/snow showers on Christmas Eve and into early Christmas Day. We're going to have to monitor the timing and temperatures associated with this system, so stay tuned!
